I am an investment professional, with ~7 years of buyside investment experience at large institutional asset managers. I have also been actively investing in the stock market for ~10 years since my college days. I have a bernedoodle puppy called Plum, whom the blog is named after.

My Investment Philosophy

All my investments need to satisfy the following 3 criteria:

  1. Under-followed, misunderstood or otherwise unfairly hated by the market

  2. Trade at an undeniably cheap valuation based on traditional metrics

  3. Have near-term catalysts to close the discount and create value

I believe that such opportunities can consistently generate alpha, as the risk/return profiles tend to be asymmetric - i.e. the cheap valuation affords downside protection, while the catalysts give you a “free look” at the upside.

I have found over time that setups of this kind are most reliably found in the small-cap and micro-cap universes, as there is limited sell-side coverage and market awareness, while larger funds are unable to access them due to liquidity constraints. I am excited to share my ideas and findings with my subscribers.
